182 Bricks & Stones may break my bones ....

something about brick walls and stone wall interiors that get me going!
the great texture, natural raw feel and dept. what a great way to add something spectacular to your walls.

180 Girl Talk

my mother and i love to girl talk.
we chit chat about anything and everything and it's usually in the kitchen while cooking up a storm. growing up i would see the women in the family gathered around in the kitchen cooking, cleaning and talking while the men sat in the living/family room watching some sort of sports on tv laughing while sucking back a beer. so growing up, the idea of women gathered around the kitchen table chit chatting really bothered me. i vowed never to become one of these women but as i started to spend more time with my mother, aunts and friends ... the more i realized this was our time to be surrounded by fellow wives, mothers, sisters, daugthers and fellowship in such an intimate way. now i crave these moments.

i now spend so much time in the kitchen it has become my little domain. everything is where i desire it to be and cooking has become a passion instead of a job. because i spend so much time in kitchens i have a lot of opinions on what my dream kitchen should and will eventually be. here are a few great kitchen images from flickr i wanted to share with you all.

i'm not big into minimalist designs but this contemporary kitchen really caught my attention with the fantastic textured back splash and sleek contrasting white to chocolate brown cabinets.

or in the opposite direction, this great cottage style kitchen with wooden counter tops and the pot hang ... every kitchen needs a sit in island and a pot hang!

and my favorite, this modern sleek wooden kitchen with stainless steel appliances and off white subway tiled back splash that runs straight up the wall to the ceiling. it brings your eyes right up making the space vertically endless.

179 It's All About The Loft

everyone desires a seat with a view, making reservations at a dining facility is no exception...

but this my blogger friends is no restaurant, it's someone's loft!

i stumbled upon these photos of a loft while uploading photos onto my flickr page and was instantly drawn into the gorgeous space. aside for the gorgeous views the space is designed so well, a mix of modern with natural elements and all comfort!

179 The Toronto ROM

every sunday on my drive to church i pass the royal ontario museum and every sunday i cringe at the sight of it. what used to be a beautiful architectural piece of art now looks as if a crystal mediorite fell on it from the heavens above! it totally ruined the integrity of the historic building, but that's only my opinion.

this type of architecture is very much the kind of work architect Daniel Libeskind creates. for example this jewish museum in san fran. california

or the denver art museum in colorado

very modern and almost futuristic but i just don't think he should have had this big crystal like ball pertruding out of such a historic and beatuiful building.

what do you guys think???
like or dislike?

178 I Dream of North Hamptons

i've been on hiatus for awhile.
as of last week i took on another job and so for the past two weeks i've been working 24 hours non stop. needless to say, blogging was the furthest thing from my mind but TGIF! i've been in need of a desperate design pump.

many of you know that i absolutely love shoot factory, so here i go again posting on one of their gorgeous locations in the north hamptons area. the stairs ... exquisite. the architectural details in this space is fantastic. but the icing on this cake is that gorgeous white baby grand in the bedroom.

this baby grand makes my mouth water, and those huge candle holders ... speechless. just imagine being serenaded by your lover in this space. now that's what i would call romantic.

the bathroom is a litle cold for my likings, but check out the day and night lighting effects.
