191 - Holiday Fear?

i was out shopping for a few things yesterday when i came across this gorgeous white christmas tree staring me in the face in one of the christmas aisles and i felt my heart skip a beat. i wanted that tree in my house! this year we were thinking of purchasing a real tree since we have never done that before and the idea of a fresh pine christmas tree in the house made so much sense to me. but standing there staring at this white plastic tree which sung with beauty just caught my heart, that is until i saw the price on the thing which read $499!

i just kept on walking.

it got me thinking however about christmas and the whole festive cheer that i feel people have lost. taken over by the stresses of christmas shopping in packed department store plazas, managing work around family gatherings which have turned into just another thing that has to be done instead of a moment of fellowship and longing, i started to wonder ... how many of us actually take the time out to reflect on the meaning of christmas and share the time with loved ones? how many of us really desire to warm up a space with their family dressing pretty pine tress and hanging personal stockings over the fire anymore? does this exisit anymore?

Yes! Yes, yes! I avoid the mall and do alot of internet shopping. It all comes to ME! My favorite thing is to be at home and decorate the tree with my family, make pomanders (oranges with cloves stuck in them...they smell sooo good!)and just soak it all up!

Internet shopping is awesome!
I love being with my family and decorating for the holidays - I just wish I had more time to do it.

We live in such a fast paced life.

I work at a greeting card company (really) where we are already working on our Christmas launch...for NEXT year. By the time we release it and start selling it it will be summer, and then by the time the actual Holiday season rolls around...it's like it never stopped. All the same...malls aside...whenver I see cute decorations or sparkly lights it does kind of put me in a holiday mood!
